A social critique on hetero-ideology and a cozy romantic drama. But "Weekend" is really about the intimacy sparked between two people with very different directions in life. Two men dealing with the fact that they live in a largely-homophobic society and that they're meant to part because of their contrasting natures (passive vs.
active).
