Review of Weekend (2011) by Andy S — 12 Nov 2012
What's amazing is how natural everything in "Weekend" feels. It's an introspective case study on social interactions, really. How a gay man can interact with another gay man or straight friends.
Also, how those interactions differ from person to person. Some of the conversations in "Weekend" are novel and genuine and thus, truly insightful. But it's more than just a talky movie; Russell and Glen go through transformations as characters, even if it takes place over three days.
The characters never feel distant, but rather relatable without ever being boring. Very natural indeed.
