Review of Wedding Crashers (2005) by Christine P — 25 May 2013
Really pretty fun if you accept the tendency toward misogyny is part of the humour. Will Ferrell's part made it all become clear. The women get the last laugh in some ways though so there is that. But then I don't think political correctness was in any way the aim of the writers and it is possible to laugh when the characters being misogynists exude enough pathos.
They certainly do! My favourite scenes are possibly the ones between Vince Vaughn and Keir O'Donnell and Vince Vaughn and Isla Fisher. A surprise to me as I normally find Vaughn a little too arrogant and similar in his role choices, seemingly unable to do humble or underdog.
But the interactions between these characters was delightful.
