Review of Wedding Crashers (2005) by Davidtejada — 22 Jan 2018
Basically the problems with the comedies nowadays are all in the formula: Producers think that the only ways to make people laugh are to kick someone, insult and ridiculise the same person constantly. But "Wedding Crashers" doesn't only leave them, instead they create its own rules and try new things. For almost 2hrs I was literally LAUGHING OUT LOUD, enjoying every second of this film and basically appreciating the amazing (I truly mean it) AMAZING chemistry between Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, some of the best duo performances I've ever seen. ///// The movie also shows tiredness of having fun with girls and the need of finding true love, in a super-fun way. But guys THIS MOVIE ALSO SHOWS REALITY, it might sound weird but it does, we live in a world were homosexual people are discriminate (Todd), where rich people may have money but not love (take Claire, even though she was getting married with a rich guy, she didn't feel the same for him), the deterioration of marriages (as William and Kathleen) and the childish attitude from a grown-up (but in a genuine way, like Fisher's performance). So it's a win-win. HOWEVER, some of the weak parts of the movie were the cameo of Will Ferrell (TERRIBLE, MEDIOCRE), the exaggeration and a little redundance of many jokes (sex jokes, childish jokes, etc.).
In conclusion, despite having little flaws, "WEDDING CRASHERS" SHOWED SOLIDLY that a comedy can be WAY DIFFERENT and WAY ORIGINAL than we had thought instead of following the same formula ever, aren't you tired of that guys???? Because I am...
