Review of We Were Soldiers (2002) by Carson Y — 11 Jan 2010
Saw this shortly after it's release and again a few days ago. it hasn't improved with time. Gibson's fake american accent is bad enough without adding a terrible attempt at a southern drawl.
Acting was worse by the soldiers. Given their prior roles I shouldn't have been surprised. The battle is supposedly in Vietnam. But it looks like it took place on some farm in Ohio. I have spent time in southeast Asia.
Never once did I see an oak tree. just horrible location. don't waste your time with this one.
