Review of We Were Soldiers (2002) by Colin A — 16 Nov 2008
Great movie. It strikes a good balance in that it shows the horrors of war, but it honors the men who served. The best Vietnam war film I have seen. It is a little difficult comparing it to "The Deer Hunter" (my other favorite) because that movie had elements to it that were good but did not have to do with Vietnam.
"Soldiers" was also more accurate than "Hunter", mostly because it was based on a real battle.
