Review of We Were Soldiers (2002) by Eugene S — 23 Aug 2013
Excellent movie capturing the beginnings of the Vietnam War and written and directed by Randall Wallace of "Braveheart" fame. It really captures the mood of the era both at home and on the front as well as portraying the battlefield action.
I particularly liked how it illustrated the formation and training of the air cav as a mainline fighting strategy on the field. As for the movie, it's not quite of the same caliber of "Saving Private Ryan" in drama, but it is definitely worth the watch; highly recommended!
