Review of We Were Soldiers (2002) by Ethan H — 21 Sep 2012
I love this movie because of how realistic and sad it is. The battle scenes are so well-done they can be compared to those of Black Hawk Down and Saving Private Ryan which are two of the most realistic war films ever made.
This movie also falls into that category. You also get an understanding of what the soldiers' families went through during the Vietnam War. I don't think I can name a more character-developed war movie because when a character dies or is affected in some way you really feel sad for them and their families.
This is also the most underrated war movie I have ever seen. Shame on the critics for not giving this movie the honest reviews that it deserves. Seriously, how is a war movie based on a true story cliched?
