Review of We the Animals (2018) by Brendan B — 28 Aug 2018
I can't recommend We the Animals highly enough. It's one of the more visually interesting films I've seen in a long time. A coming of age story of sorts that captures so much about childhood and family, is emotionally affecting without veering into melodrama.
The performances by Sheila Vand and Raúl Castillo are something else, and the film really captures the mood and style of the novel -- a rare feat!
