Review of We Own the Night (2007) by George P — 22 Mar 2009
I liked this movie, nicely made with a good plot and some tense sequences.Joaquin Phoenix was brilliant despite his hare lip, Mark Whalberg did'nt use his full potential and Robert Duvall was as usual superb.
. I like him. The use of colour was good and the russians were bastards. Although I have to say I am sick of people making films set in the eighty's so they can play the shite music that I grew up with, for fukcs sake play some techno or a bit of cheeky house music.
Blondie was all well and good but it's been remixed now so if you wanna play it set it in the ninteys or even now, it is a universally acknowledged truth that 80's music was shit, so stop it.
