A really underrated film. Its a great urban crime drama that really is quite epic in scope but at right under 2 hours, maintains a really strong pace. The actors all do fine jobs but James Gray really makes this film.
The violence in this film is very realistic. The one scene that will always stand out being the scene where Joaquin Phoenix goes to the drug house. The tension really is perfect. Between 'Two Lovers' and 'We Own The Night' James Gray really is a filmmaker that deserves more respect.
