Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Bill B — 21 Oct 2012
Chilling at turns, but always holding you on the edge of your seat, this is a film that everyone thinking of having kids should be forced to watch, just to see how it might work out, y'know? Okay, so I'm slightly exaggerating, but this is an amazingly well made film that builds a nice sense of dread in the viewer, as we meet the broken mother of the titular character after a certain traumatic event, which the entire film builds towards finally revealing to us. Thus, we spend the film wondering not if something will go wrong, but HOW BADLY it will will all go wrong, which is a creepy feeling to have for more than an hour.
