Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Tom B — 07 Jul 2012
A topic rarely discussed openly. What happens if a mother's maternal instinct doesn't kick in and her ambivalence towards her child leads to a psychological war between mother and son? That's the premise.
Beautifully directed (albeit a little slow and disorienting at times) especially in the 1st act. Terrific acting by all the cast including the great Tilda Swinton. John C. Reilly also does well as the clueless dad.
Watch for Ezra Miller in the future, good young actor.
