Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Molly R — 04 Jan 2013
This is a good adaptation of the book. I was wondering how it would translate to film as it is a very introspective book. Granted, I do feel there are many parts of the movie I would not have understood had, I not read the book, such as the main character's thoughts and the relationship between her and her husband.
The things it fails to capture the most are Eva and Kevin's conversations in the prison. They are a huge part of the book and virtually non-existent in the film . I think the film does, however, capture the overall spirit of the book.
