Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Alex J — 13 Jan 2013
While the direction is off at times and the color-emotion scheme is driven through the ground a lot, nothing can take away from the chilling story and never failing performance that Tilda Swinton gives.
The movie gives a thought provoking look into the nature vs. nurture debate without giving off a bias, a feat that is most often not pulled off in a movie like this. Both the Ezra Miller and John Reilly give performances that may not equal Swinton's but are good none-the-less.
The tension in this movie is surprising and keeps views on edge and interested in what is happening no matter how hard to watch it is.
