Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Dr. F P — 16 Mar 2013
All the cast are fantastic, the imagery is above all, interesting, I connected with Eva's emotions quite easily but even so it wasn't as unsettling as people have said, it presented to me as being very suggestive, and I guess it tried too hard because there really isn't anything too deep to look into as opposed to the obvious.
In the end I wouldn't watch it again, I feel that it's a film that only offers what it does and there's no more to talk about, the psychological aspects are all very familiar to me so there's no shock in Kevin's behaviour, nor Eva's.
It was a bit creepy seeing him kill everyone with the bow and arrow though, there was an air of sadness cast over.
