Review of We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011) by Nick P — 17 Feb 2015
The movie itself is unsettling and disturbing, therefore the way it begins is understandable...but after 40 minutes, the constant flashbacks and unorthodox timeline because to get annoying. Anxiety and ADD is not a good thing to have if you want to watch this film, but it's worst aspect is that it tries to pack to big of a punch without having any characters you can feel for.
Kevin's parents are just so unbelievably stupid and dumb, with absolutely NO concept of what is happening right in front of their faces...TO their faces. The only standout moments, are the performances by the two actors who play Kevin, but even that alone doesn't give enough satisfaction to last the entire length of the film.
The ending is nicely done, but given the entire films slow pace, it is way too predictable to enjoy.
