Review of We Live in Public (2009) by Dovglas P — 18 Sep 2010
A must see if you're into technology and futurism. Josh Harris is a sociopath but he did some interesting things. It's weird but the footage from 2000 when Harris created a basement full of surveilled pod-people looks incredibly dated (large CRT monitors, big cameras) but it's actually very modern as well (Narcissistic people watching each other on camera).
Must be seen to believed. The fact that Harris is somewhat mentally unbalanced makes this a much more interesting movie. I think that's usually the case. Take for example, Big River Man, Grizzly Man, The Devil & Daniel Johnston, Crumb, The King of Kong and My Flesh and Blood. They all show ordinary people pushed to the edge. Insane people are extremely creative but also extremely unbalanced. That is also true of Josh Harris.
