Review of We Don't Live Here Anymore (2004) by Christopher L — 09 Feb 2005
Starring: Mark Ruffalo, Laura Dern, Peter Krause, and Naomi Watts.
Directed by John Curran.
Written by Larry Gross.
Rated R (for sexual content and language).
Running time approximately 1 hour 39 minutes.
This is the film that should have won the Best Ensemble Performance award from the AFI. Every performance is brilliantly realized. After watching Peter Krause deliver his lines with a stunning realism, I have a hunger to finally watch Six Feet Under, which I have never seen. We Don't Live Here Anymore has a wonderful screenplay, some very beautiful character work, and some of the best performances of the year (Laura Dern is absolutely fantastic!). See it, but be prepared for despair. ***1/2 (out of ****) B+.
