Review of We Bought a Zoo (2011) by Giovanni T — 09 Nov 2012
Predictable, clichè, at times enjoyable. Could not grasp around the fact that all characters were bundled up from cold weather throughout the film meanwhile beasts of the Sahara desert and Bengali jungle stroll along in their enclosures (lions, tigers and peacocks) oh my.
Lacks emotional pull. Even for an animal lover such as myself, I never once felt pulled into the animals' desperate situation or even became emotional with Spar, the 17 year old veteran tiger's death.
Elle Fanning, amazing as ever; hasn't failed me yet. Damon, mediocre- as is the rest of the cast. Maggie Jones, the youngest of the cast, saves this movie; absolutely incredible acting from a girl of such young age.
Truly destined for an incredible career.
