Review of We Bought a Zoo (2011) by John H — 23 Dec 2012
We Bought a Zoo Comedy-family film co-written and directed by Cameron Crowe. Starring Matt Damon (one of my top-favorite actors). Adapted from the memoir of same name by Benjamin Mee.
Benjamin (Matt Damon) is a newspaper journalists. He quits job as the kind of reporting he does, the newspaper cannot fund anymore. His wife had died months ago - he's got two kids Rosie (7-year old) and Dylan (13-year old). Dylan is not happy at school, forcing Benjamin to movie and doing so he stumbles into a small zoo. He sells his house, and utilizes savings to renovate this zoo, to run it for future.
I have always loved watching Matt Damon movies, he is one of the hard-working actors in the film-industry today. He energizes his character and purely portrays Benjamin Mee, this is the core effort that makes the movie worth watching.
We've known Crowe from Jerry Maguire - Almost Famous. He's a brilliant filmmaker. Entire cast done their level best to bring fine acting. But I wish, there was more of boost to be given to its script to lift human-spirit, this is minor blow that movie suffers from - nevertheless it's a real fun to watch movie with the family - thanks to Matt Damon's excellent performance.
