Review of We Bought a Zoo (2011) by Dave H — 23 Mar 2013
"Enough with the drama, man!", Matt Damon yells out in one of the repetitive scenes of family conflict. If only Cameron Crowe had told himself the same thing. Far too many intense yelling or dealing with grief scenes.
Although the laptop photo scene DID destroy me. There's not enough comedy, and not QUITE enough patent Crowe whimsy, but the cast is fantastic, especially the kid who plays Rosie. And Haden Church, as usual.
And John Michael Higgins. And McCready. Typically nostalgic music too, sometimes I think Crowe only makes these films so he can play with 60s tracks.
