Review of We Bought a Zoo (2011) by Mark F — 10 Aug 2013
So where do I start with this one. It's a true story...this is good. It's got lots of amazing animals in it...also good. It's sweet, sentimental, feel-good and funny. The soundtrack is actually noticeably immense.
It really adds something to the movie. It's clever, right up until the final line. Didn't see that one coming. The blonde girl is pure sunshine. I think for the first time I saw what people see in Scarlett Johansson.
My one gripe with this movie...Angus Macfadyen...what's happened there, man? He's twice the size of his Braveheart heydey. Made me a bit nostalgic/melancholic to see Robert the Bruce getting old and chubby.
Annnnyhooo, that's not the reason I had a lump in my throat by the closing credits. That was for an altogether better reason. Good stuff.
