Review of We Bought a Zoo (2011) by Darth V — 11 Aug 2013

I bought the DVD six months ago and this Saturday night the wife and I sat down to watch it for movie-date night. This is a charming, family movie, which our 11 year old chose not to watch with us, but that's her loss.

It has all the ethos and pathos of what the remaining family members must go through and how they survive after the loss of the mother. It's both emotional and inspiring, with some cheeziness thrown in for good measure.

Here is Matt Damon at his best in a character role where he delivers the necessary emotional impact that carries the movie. I'm glad to have it as part of my permanent DVD library.
