Crowe has mastered the use of a soundtrack and the emotion he can evoke from songs. Aside from the great soundtrack, its a solid effort from the cast (the females in particular). Their experiences try to mirror life for all of us, but its often too generalized and simplistic.
There is still a connection to the characters...at least enough to watch to see how it ends.
