Review of We Are Your Friends (2015) by Matthew F. J — 29 Dec 2015
Max Joseph directs his first feature length film and I strongly believe the man has a great future in films. This Zac Efron driven vehicle isn't particularly thrilling on the story side but visually and technically, the film really impressed me.
I loved how it's shot, I loved the colors, the lights, the soundtrack was definitely one of the coolest I heard in a while and overall the film had a few really good point on this new ' I want to be rich and famous and live in a big house' type of ambitions.
Story fo four friends who all grew pretty poor and wishing to make it happen, we follow the struggle, the joy and pains of this quartet in their quest for a better life. Down to earth while remaining highly attractive visually, the film goes fast , too fast almost and I found myself caught up in the film, enjoying it far more than I expected to.
Definitely a fun film, not too deep but layered enough to be engaging and entertaining , which is probably its main and primal goal.
