Review of We Are Wizards (2008) by Michael C — 04 Jan 2010
At times meandering and self serving, still a rather striking exploration of fan culture, their rights, and their place in our world. Told through the perspective of Harry Potter "Rock Wizards" and their families, this movie could be about any fan base for any story...because there's a fan in all of us. Brad Neely provides a large part of its charm with his askew sense of humor. An overly conservative woman who believes Harry Potter is a gateway to real witchcraft provides a temporary, but useful villain for the story as well.
Required viewing for anyone who calls himself (or herself) a geek.
