Review of We Are Marshall (2006) by Louis S — 19 Jun 2010
Outstanding, powerful drama about overcoming the odds, that just happens to center on the horrific plane crash of the 1970 Marshall University Thundering Herd football team and the aftermath on the community of Huntington, WV.
McConaughey does an excellent job in a more serious role as the coach who reestablishes the Herd, with Fox doing an equally powerful job as Red Dawson, the assistant coach who missed the flight. Every character is three dimensional, the story doesn't lag and the football action is intense.
Well done.
