Review of Wayne's World 2 (1993) by Liam G — 12 Oct 2008

Of course its good, dont be stupid how could it not be? The REAL question is which is better Wayne's World 1 or 2?

Well thought both "wacky" I think 1 resembles the classic movie act structure better and the rambling craziness is plot relative. Lets not kid ourselves the two movies have basically the same story, slick yuppie takes Wayne's girl and think he cant do anything about it cause he's a loser like the people watching the film so they can all go "yey" when he does. That's why the actors are a key factor in deciphering which is the superior film. Benjamin in 1 and Bobby in 2 essentially the same characters but played by different people. Now I happen to think that Rob Lowe is first class in 1. he's so slick and sleazy I truly believe he's a honest to goodness suit. The script brilliant allows him to be as smarmy as he needs to be and he portrays it all flawlessly, but 2 has Christopher Walken... and he's Christopher Walken so... he wins. Benjamin is better character and its well played, excellently played, but there's something so real about Christopher Walken, you would be totally paranoid he would steal your girlfriend. Who could resist him!

What it all comes down to is which is the funniest. Not to say that anyone is better than the other BUT when you add it all up and talk about with friends the scenes your likely to mention are "the shop keeper and his son were a different story altogether" "dot the lower case j's" and my personal favorite "do you have any MegaDeath" are all in Wayne's World 2.

I think 1 has the nicer story about friendship and all the jive and 2 kind of forgets to put any kind of a morel in there expect to don't forget to party... which is pretty cool now that I think about it. 1 has the better sound track though. So there both good, good rock movies they don't make anymore and here's hoping everyone will die before some clever dick gets the idea to make Wayne's World 3.
