Review of Wayne's World (1992) by Ryan V — 30 Mar 2012
Wayne's World is one of the few SNL movies that manages to properly expand on the premise of the sketches. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reprise their roles as two dim-witted heavy metal fanatics who host a public access chat show.
The plot surrounds a morally bankrupt network exec (Rob Lowe) who wants to exploit the progam's cult audience for a financial windfall. The story, however, takes a backseat to the quotable antics and goofy gags perpetrated by the main cast.
Wayne's World is a very silly movie, but it's silly in a lightly amusing and highly watchable fashion.
