Very much of its time, most of it isn't quite as hilarious as I remember it being back in the day. For nostalgia's sake alone it gets 4 stars. There is still plenty to love about it, it has charm and heart and its plain silly.
Might also be the most watchable SNL off shot in the Lorne Michael's back catalogue too. Mike Myers has made a career out of playing this character, essentially, but maybe the biggest crime is that Carvey's career never took off like it really should have.
