Review of Wayne's World (1992) by Aurelius D — 14 Aug 2009
Haven't watched these in years I revisited them. Classic comedy duo Mike and Dana were. It's a shame that Mike keeps releasing movies awfully similar to what what he's already done but I guess what works is worth milking... Then you got Dana...where the crap is he? I haven't seen him since a comedy special some like ten years ago at least. If you haven't seen it by now...well I can't think of anyone that hasn't. This would also mean that you aren't going to see it so there's no sense worrying about spoilers or selling anyone.
You got two underachievers with a cable access show. The idea in and of itself is unique and funny. The things they get away with saying reminds me of how cool TV use to be. Great music of course my favorite being the Alice Cooper concert they go to see. When "Wayne's" life starts to go right it all starts to click. His show gets optioned to be sponsored and available to a mass audience. He meets his dream girl who is a wicked bassist. Everything is going good until you realize that someone is out to screw him over. Throw in a lot of wacky hi jinx and great cameos and this becomes a classic piece of comedy gold.
