Review of Wayne's World (1992) by Quinn T — 05 Jul 2013
Wayne's World is a brainless comedy based off the SNL skit with Mike Meyers and Dana Carvey. Now, unlike other comedies based off SNL skits such as The Coneheads, Wayne's World is not thoughtful in anyway, but it is hilarious.
Wayne Campbell (Meyers) and Garth Algar (Carvey) are two best friends who run a TV show called Wayne's world. It soon is bought by a business executive (Rob Lowe) who brings the show to his network. The movie is helped by performances from Tia Carrere, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Lee Tergesen. The movie also features cameos from people such as Robert Patrick, Alice Cooper, Chris Farley and even Meat Loaf. But the movie is truly devoted to Meyers and Carvey, who offer quirky characters and many laughs. The movie is even complete with memorable catchphrases and classic scenes.
