Review of Way Out West (1937) by Tom M — 23 Sep 2010
I just don't get these guys. They're so highly revered that this feels like a deficiency, but at a certain point in your life you have to come to terms with certain truths: I will never read Proust, I will never like gin, I do not get Laurel and Hardy.
The soft shoe scene is indeed charming, but not enough to get me through the whole film. I quit about two-thirds of the way through.
