Review of Way Out West (1937) by Roddy W — 12 Dec 2009
Why is this a masterpiece? There is the sheer physical brilliance of theduo, for instance. Their dance outside the saloon never fails to have me crying with laughter. Then there is their rendition of 'The Traill of The Lonesome Pine'. James Finlayson, the moustachioed cross-eyed baddie works brilliantly as a foil to the duo's slapstick and it all ends up being just over an hour of pure magic.
America, I salute you for your legacy of comic genius!
