Review of Waterworld (1995) by Trey M — 04 Nov 2009
I rewatched this one last night for the first time in a few years. Can you believe it was made for $175 million dollars and you've probably never heard of it? Waterworld is an epic movie that, like A.
I. Artificial Intellengence, has been overlooked, misunderstood, and underrated. It has such an original, unique feel about it of adventure, ingenuity, and sheer scope that just makes you believe in this world however rediculous it may be.
Waterworld is ridled with plot holes and underdeveloped ideas and characters but it is also saturated with grand, remarkable, even outlandish suggestions about the future, plus awe-inspiring set peices, costumes, and action sequences.
When a film creates an entire world that I'm drawn into and want to see over and over again, I find that fairly remarkable. I wish that Waterworld had done better with audiences because it is such a jewel and there are so many things to have fun with and ponder on about it.
It is an impressive film that you might want to check out on netflix watch instantly one afternoon.
