The opening shot shows us Kevin Costner taking a piss. Perhaps that was his metaphorical way of warning us what a piss-poor movie we are about to watch.
There's just so much about this film that doesn't make sense. I can't be bothered going into it in too much detail right now, though.
Watch the Road Warrior instead. You'll essentially see the same sort of action, but better done and with more of a point to it.
