What's not to like, a massive waterborne saga with great action, a reluctant broody hero, a love story, a funny kid who was a joy to watch, a strong woman, giant alligator-like monsters and Dennis Hopper as an over-the-top pirate.
With gorgeous cinematography and special effects, it is worth watching at least once.
