Review of Waterworld (1995) by Lee D — 01 Feb 2010

Now I know most people have given waterworld an automatic flop rating, and I have never been able to put my finger on it but ive always enjoyed it overall. yes it is a cheese fest but that doesnt mean its a non-enjoyable film. I think a lot of what hurt it back in the day was the amount of hype that circled it, I mean it had a huge budget(which must have went entirely into costner's boat) a pretty epic cast and a decent concept, but somewhere around all of that it just didnt deliver, a bit of the supporting acting was corny and some of the sets and props just looked too cheap for a movie with that big of a budget. but I think its still more noteworthy than many give it the satisfaction of.

So give it a rent and check it out, no its not some greatly deep and moving film going experience but its entertaining enoughto watch.
