Review of Waterworld (1995) by Giano P — 04 Jan 2010
Did it warrant it's budget? No. Is it clumsy and sentimental in places? Yes. Costner seems hell bent on playing mythic roles, but he's pretty good at least before he tells us he's: "sailed farther than most men dream.
" It's surprising and refreshing to see real, non CG stunts, and it does have a gritty atmosphere of survival before lapsing into Hopper induced farce. Mad Max 2 on water then, ain't terrific but for Hollywood action it ain't half bad either.
