Review of Watership Down (1978) by Maren H — 11 Dec 2007
Excellent animated film based on Richard Adams's novel. The animation, while techinically not as impressive as the contemporary Disney features of the time, takes on a naturalistic feel with it characters.
The animators also did their homework when researching the real Watership Down in England. The story itself is pretty close to the book (though some elements have been combined or omitted for length) and is in some ways more violent and dark that the source material (which is saying something).
