Watership Down is, just by seeing it, one of the best animated films of its generation, as well as the saddest animated film (next to When The Wind Blows). It is a British film about rabbits who must find a new home because of human developers. What I admire about the film is that it was not a afraid to be way more for adults than it is for kids, even though this is from the 70's. There are several scenes where there are forest animals being killed, whether it be by dogs or cars, complete with blood dripping from their bodies. Another concept that I like about the film is that the rabbits have developed a language and vocabulary for the different man-related items. For example, cars are referred to as "ru-boo-doos".

The possible reason why I love this film so much is that I am tired of seeing animated films that are directed for kids. I want to see more animated films that take a more adult tone. That is why I don't go to see Mainstream animated films, but I go to see the ones that nobody cares about (hell, I went and saw 9). However, I must warn that depending on the kind of animation that you're into, you will either like-to-love this film, or you will hate it. Based on my view of animation, I absolutely love this film.
