An exodus of rabbits sets out to establish and populate its own warren, finding deadly, depressing surprises around nigh every corner. While it doesn't achieve the mythic, epic quality of the book, the animated adaptation of Watership Down is just about as ominous and unrelenting, and doesn't pull any punches for the sake of family-friendliness.
