Review of Watership Down (1978) by I. V — 29 Jul 2011
Bunnies getting run over, ripped up, shot, chewed up by dogs, and killed. Bloody and gory all the way. This movie knows one hell of brutal animation and I liked he fact that it's not all happiness and sunshine and rainbows all over the place. It reminds me a lot of "The Animals of Farthing Wood," however, it envisions a sense of death in a rather violent, gruesome, unique kind of way for a 'kid's' story.
This one for sure is an unusual piece of storytelling.
