Watership Down is a good adaptation of the novel, although it does remove a lot of character development and consequently is not as powerful as it could have been. Carrying a great musical score and some amazing animation, there is plenty to be enjoyed with this version.
The characters are well portrayed, although the depth of each warren and what they represent wasn't as well depicted. Regardless, it carries the menacing suspense when needed and creates the perfect mood.
Watership Down is a classic for good reason.
