Review of Watermelon Man (1970) by Sean C — 30 Nov 2009
The acting isn't bad, but Van Peebles' direction turns into a mess pretty often, especially when he tries to get experimental (assuming that's what he was trying to do). The music is notably awful, too.
Furthermore, I have to assume that this satire on racial prejudice seemed far too simple and outdated even when it was released in 1970.
