Review of Waterloo Bridge (1931) by Ginj N — 24 Oct 2007
As much as I love Casablanca and Brief Encounter, this has to be my favourite romantic weepy, and it's a pity it isn't better known. I think the bit when they dance to Auld Lang Syne in the Candlelight Club has to be the most beautiful and romantic scene in any movie.
It was the favourite film of its stars Robert Taylor and Vivien Leigh, and it's such a pleasure to see Leigh play such a lovely, unspoiled character.
