As usual, not every historical nuance is in place, but the film does try to work at getting it mostly right. Can be a bit slow at the outset for those looking to get straight into the action (it is a film named after a battle), but only because it actually wants you to get to know Napoleon and Wellington before you watch them match wits.

Set pieces are on a scale that will probably never be done again. Watch literally hundreds and thousands of real, living people, all in period costume, charge, scream, and generally make you feel you're right there in 1815 Belgium. The sound of an entire battery firing at once will give you chills, as will the charge of the Scots Greys. Epic stuff.
