Review of Water for Elephants (2011) by Michelle H — 10 Dec 2012
Husband called it the "Titanic" in circus form. That is a pretty accurate description of the story. It's the love story between vetrineran, Jacob, and ringleader wife/performer, Marlena.
The story may be told and retold across hundreds of movies, but each one contains something that makes it original and beautiful.
What made this movie amazing was both Rob Pat and Reese Witherspoon's performances and the gorgeous 1930 circus era design. I was totally sucked into the magical set design, cinematography, and costumes. It looked like a dream. Liked the movie; loved the art behind it. Oh, and there was an elephant. :).
