Review of Water for Elephants (2011) by Eduardo T — 12 Apr 2012
This film was hard for me to rate. I kept going back and forth on what rating to give it. The reason why this was so hard to find out if it's good or bad is because it had it's ups and downs. The first thing I noticed about this film right away was the acting.
Really, really, really good acting. I know that the critics say that the lead cast lacks chemistry but I have to strongly disagree with them. I know I'm sounding stupid right now but come on there are films out there that have way worse chemistry and they get good ratings.
I literally felt the struggles the characters where going threw. The acting was serious and that is what I like. Having given so much love to this on the acting aspect I have to say that this also had some good directing considering that the acting is good.
The writing was okay. The script could have had some revisions. It seemed a little rushed especially towards the end. The thing I hated the most of this artsy film was the producing. The producing was really cheesy.
It seemed like this was made for little girls but they had some sexual content so that was confusing. This seemed like a classic but with the modern look. Which is a good and bad thing at the same time.
I would recommend this to little girls that are obsessed with Robert Pattinson.
